Sponsors needed in Kenya!

Esther, a Grade 10 student at Busiada Girls High School, walked approximately 40 kilometers from her home to the school carrying nothing more than her admission letter, hope, and an unshakable determination to pursue an education. She arrived at the school alone, believing that education was her only path to a better future.
Esther lost both of her parents at a very young age and is being raised by her elderly grandmother, who struggles to provide even the most basic necessities.

With no financial means to pay school fees, many would have expected her dream to end before it began. Instead, she chose courage over despair and made the long journey on foot to seek admission. When she arrived at school after her long journey, her determination could not be ignored and she was taken in. Today, Esther's greatest obstacle is not her ability or determination—it is the financial burden of remaining in school. Without sponsorship, this brilliant young girl risks seeing her dreams cut short despite having already overcome unimaginable challenges.

By sponsoring Esther Akumu Walobwa, you will not simply be paying school fees. You will be investing in a resilient young girl who has already proven that no distance is too great when chasing a dream. Your support will give her the opportunity to complete her education, fulfil her enormous potential, and ultimately transform not only her own life but also that of her family and community. Reach out to us here or to Sherry Fine at [email protected] to learn how you can support Esther's dreams.

Esther's journey began with a 40-kilometre walk of faith. With your support, that journey can lead to a future filled with hope, dignity, and success.

Update on our trip to Jamaica...

Parents are already responding with positivity. Because the trip was such a success, we will be arranging support groups with specialists, purchasing equipment, and assisting with the necessary evaluations for a school placement. The need is great, and we will continue to serve the children we can. Thank you to board member Joy Ellis for connecting LWCF with such wonderful children and their communities. If you are interested in this project and would like to get involved or just want to learn more, let us know!

A few photos from LWCF volunteers in Jamaica this past week. A team of board members and trained professionals are helping identify children with additional needs and, as you can see, having fun while doing it. If you are interested in volunteering on a similar trip in Guatemala, let us know! Together we can help provide the tools and skills needed for these children to thrive.

Thank you to our amazing team in Jamaica! 🙏

Sponsor needed! As many of you know, we have a sponsorship program for the Mukuru Slum in Nairobi, Kenya. So far, we have sent 141 young people to high school and 38 to university. We have three medical students, an aspiring lawyer, several nurses and much more. There is one young man whose sponsor had been very involved, but suddenly passed away. This young man needs a new sponsor for his last two years. If you or someone you know is interested please send us a message.
This student plans to major in Agriculture. They are particularly interested in beekeeping, a vital trade in communities that rely on subsistence agriculture and live off the land. And since it's earth day, help us help this student protect the environment.

Reminder! We have three AWESOME trips coming up this year to Jamaica, Guatemala, and East Africa. Interested in joining?...
