Yet another case of human trafficking that will go under the radar.
Diplomatic Immunity...another way for politicians to feel above the law and abuse their authority.
This is nothing new, but the times of diplomatic immunity should be repealed, we're an informed society, these crimes cannot hide forever. Rapes, drugs, slaves, and murders, crimes allowed to be committed without fear of the police.
If I posted all the immunity issues this wall would look like a police blotter. But, while this rant might make sense, I'd never expect it to change. Once power's given, it takes a war to get it back.
I hope that this survivor receives the funds and support she needs to be identified as a a victim of human trafficking and will be able to receive the treatment she is entitled under the Federal Law: TVPRA. Put given the circumstances, I believe this case will fade into the shadows just like so many others.
In early May, it was reported that two potential trafficking victims were rescued from a Saudi Arabian diplomatic compound in an upscale area of McLean, Virginia. But since the residents apparently have diplomatic immunity, it seems little has been done to investigate or charge the alleged offender...
