International Working Women's Day Coalition

International Working Women's Day Coalition The International Women's Day Coalition is an intergenerational grouping of women from various adversely impacted communities in New York City.

Women in the U.S. will continue to be in the forefront of many battles — opposing U.S. wars and occupations while demanding funding for human needs, defending collective bargaining in their unions, demanding wages that allow their families to keep up with the cost of living, stopping foreclosures so they can stay in their homes, demanding contraceptives and other free preventive health care, and f

ighting for basic rights to affordable education, quality health care and housing, and good-paying jobs. Women in public sector jobs — who are a majority women of color — are coming under heavy fire now as they defend their right to belong to unions. And they are rising to the challenge. Immigrant women are blazing ahead despite obstacles and organizing new unions for domestic workers. On International Working Women’s Day 2013, we remember the women garment workers in New York City who marched for better working and living conditions on March 8, 1908, and the socialist women who founded IWWD in 1910 in their honor.

JOIN US FOR IWA ALL LEADERS MEETING

REGISTER: tinyurl.com/IWAAllLeaders22

All member organizations/individuals and interested organizations/individuals are welcome to attend the All Leaders Meeting, to unite on 3 major objectives:

-Mobilize membership and agitate toward action on the ever increasing crisis of imperialism, especially as it relates to war and militarism and economic exploitation

-To share final concepts for IWAs campaigns and particularize regional/local participation

-To share major international activities that IWA is participating in and agitate toward engaging more members to join.

As we approach our 3rd year of the global health crisis, we see increased exploitation of our communities and heightened repression and fascism that continue to attack our peoples movements. Now more than ever, it is critical to strengthen our coordination internationally and grow our mass base of militant anti-imperialist women to fight back against the imperialist powers that be. When we work together, we have the power to paralyze their profit-stealing anti-people systems.

In this spirit, we invite you to join us to hear updates about issues affecting women globally, including a newly launched campaign from GABRIELA PH, to unite on and particularize IWA's central campaigns, and to discuss some exciting international activities that IWA will be participating in.
