Initiative for Women with Disabilities - Young Women's Program Programming specifically designed for young women with physical disabilities, empowering them to pursue a healthy lifestyle. Snacks and dinner are served.

The YWP is a free, after school program for girls ages 14-21 years with physical disabilities . Classes offered range from fitness, dancing, yoga/meditation to drama, nutrition, hairstyling/beauty and discussions around designated themes all with expert instructors/presenters. Assistance with completing homework and exploring transportation options is provided including reimbursement for public tr

ansportation and Access-A-Ride. Personal care assistance is available. Special events and programming are also held Monday-Friday after school, on weekends, and school holidays.

NYU Study on Health and Nutrition Among Young Adults with Disabilities

Researchers at NYU are conducting a survey to understand the health and nutrition needs of persons with disabilities (18 years and older). If eligible, you will receive a $10 electronic Amazon gift card for completing it.

This potentially lifesaving presentation, which teaches the important steps you need to take in order to prepare for emergencies before they happen. Starting February 14th, individuals with "Underlying Conditions" as defined by New York State will be eligible to make an appointment for the COVID19 vaccine. To help address questions around this expansion, the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities Commissioner Victor Calise and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Assistant Commissioner Dr. Olusimbo Ige will be holding a presentation and discussion on Vaccine Distribution in NYC. After presentations the community will have the opportunity for feedback and questions.

This Virtual Town Hall will be taking place on Monday, February 22nd at 2:00pm.
