This week, three World Youth Alliance members proudly represented the United States at the 2024 APEC Forum on Women and Youth Empowerment in education, held in Taipei, Taiwan.

Jan Jagielski, a certified WYA member and participant in the APEC forum, reflected, “I found the discussions about women and youth entrepreneurship important, especially stressing that young people should have an opportunity to not just survive, but thrive all around the world.” The two other WYA members who participated were Max Yun, advocacy fellow, and Colette Kania, HDC fellow.

Our WYA participants shared about the mission of the World Youth Alliance, exchanged ideas and connected with peers from 17 APEC economies.

Advocating for human dignity can be tough, especially when it comes to controversial issues. If you keep the dignity of the human person at the center of your discussion, though, it can actually be an opportunity to build bridges and make new friends, even when disagreements remain.
