Pan-Megarian Society Of America "BYZAS"

Pan-Megarian Society Of America "BYZAS" Pan-Megarian Society of America is a non-profit organization located in Brooklyn, NY. It was established in 1975

The association was founded originally on May 1, 1916, in MacGill, Nevada by the first Megarites immigrants with the title "Pan Megaritikos Benevolent Association of Megarians, Byzas". In the late 1950's, after many years of service to its members and a large donation for the construction of the high school in Megara, Greece, Byzass became an inactive society. The new megarite immigrants in the Ne

w York area started to think and talk about the establishment of a new association during the years of 1972-1974. The first meeting was held on Sunday, March 2, 1975, at the Diner located on the corner of Ninth and Fifth avenues in Brooklyn, New York. The founders who called the meeting took the proper steps towards the founding of Byzas Society of New York. These immigrants wanted to establish a Hellenic American Society that will promote and preserve the Megarian Culture, as well as help the needy members all over the world.
