URBANSWIMMer Matt Gurry has completed the 17 mile Rose Pitonof Swim twice, in 2012 and 2016 with less than a minute difference between the two swims four years apart.
Here’s Matt along the Rose Swim course, including a pause and a smile under the Brooklyn Bridge, site of our next and newest event, the 2021 URBANSWIM Brooklyn Bridge Swim.
Matt is an accomplished marathon swimmer and has also completed solo swims including Around Manhattan Island (28 miles), Around Charleston (12 Miles), Swim the Suck (10 miles), CIBBOWS "Key Lime Pie" 10 miler from Coney Island to Red Hook, and is an active U.S. Masters Swimmer.
