First decade of 21st century warmest on record

The 2001-2010 period experienced the warmest global temperatures since modern measurements began in 1850, according to the UN World Meteorological Organization. Nine of the decade’s years were among the ten warmest in history. The report, titled Global Climate 2001-2010: A Decade of Climate Extremes, analyzes regional climate variables including temperature, precipitation and sea level.

Young Professionals for Sustainable Energy

Global Energy Initiative is building a network of Young Professionals for Sustainable Energy for All (YPSEA) to provide them a dynamic platform to engage in the issues of sustainable energy for all, environmental protection and climate change. YPSEA is an important component of GEI’s worldwide movement to achieve its goal and mission through international cooperation and new and creative approaches. YPSEA group is largely comprised of young professional of age 20-40, who come from a wide range of professions – academia, government, business, nonprofit and others. The YPSEA members gain exceptional leadership experience and networking opportunities, while at the same time contribute to the betterment of humanity.
