Kennedy Children's Center

Kennedy Children's Center Providing high quality education services to NYC children with developmental delays, in partnership with families and communities.

Kennedy Children's Center's (KCC’s) mission is to assist children who experience significant delays in learning and other areas of early childhood development. We accomplish this mission by:

- Providing evaluation and diagnosis, comprehensive therapy, and high-quality preschool education to young children with delays in learning and other areas of development;

- Advancing the holistic well-being

of the families we serve through family support, including Medicaid service coordination, respite services, and information on healthy living and accessing community resources;

- Advocating for public policies that benefit young children with developmental delays, and developing programs to meet the changing needs of our families; and,

- Reinforcing best practices in early childhood special education through ongoing professional development for educators, therapists, and others working in the field. KCSC is an affiliated agency of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. We are approved and funded by:

- New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Special Education Preschool.
- New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) as a Day Care provider.
- New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) as a provider of Medicaid Service Coordination and Respite Services. Kennedy Child Study Center is incorporated in New York State and is registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the IRS.

KCC was honored to stand on stage with Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani to celebrate reforms that will strengthen support for child care providers, small businesses, and community-based organizations that serve New Yorkers.

These changes were directly informed by a roundtable event held earlier this spring, where KCC was invited to share our perspective on how the City can make it easier for providers like us to open, operate, and deliver high-quality services. As one of NYC’s leading early childhood special education providers, we are proud to help shape conversations that strengthen our sector.

Better collaboration between the city and community based organizations means better service for NYC’s students and families! We are encouraged by this commitment to strengthening our vital partnership and look forward to working even more closely together in the future.

We were also happy to see Bronx BP Vanessa L. Gibson at the event. KCC remains deeply grateful for the Borough President’s investment in our Bronx Preschool Playroof, and for championing the needs of our community. Carolyn Anne
