The Roger Rees Awards

The Roger Rees Awards Recognizing Excellence in High School Musical Theatre Performance in the Greater New York Area. The Roger Rees Awards Showcase takes place annually in May.

The Broadway Education Alliance presents The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance— a celebration of theater arts education, the talented students of the Greater NYC region, and the exceptional life and career-long artistic excellence of Broadway’s beloved actor, Roger Rees. High schools located in the counties of the Bronx, Dutchess, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, New York (Manhattan

), Orange, Putman, Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester are invited to register for participation each season. The production features ensemble and solo performances by student nominees, as well as recognizes students for their outstanding achievements both on and off stage. The Roger Rees Awards is Greater NYC's regional awards program for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards® (the Jimmy Awards®).
