Organized by the Downtown Brooklyn Arts Alliance, Arts Month May (+June!) showcases one of the most exciting months of the year for arts organizations located in the greater Downtown Brooklyn area and creates a unique opportunity for partnerships between the arts, local businesses, and community organizations.

As part of this initiative, we are inviting local businesses and community organizations to collaborate with us in celebrating the cultural richness of our neighborhoods and making the most of the opportunity to reach new audiences and customers this May and June!

We have three ways to participate:

1) List your business on the Arts Month May (+June!) website. Listings will appear on dedicated neighborhood pages that feature a mix of art events, community activities, and local business listings.

2) Add an event to the Arts Month May (+June!) community calendar. Perfect for promoting art projects, community happenings, in-store promotions, and other public events!

3) Become a sponsor for Arts Month May (+June)! Sponsors receive enhanced visibility through community-level promotions. Additional custom sponsorship benefits are available for those looking for a deeper partnership.

Listings are $25 each and community sponsorships are available at $150. For a limited time, we are offering free business and events listings with the code DBAAArtsMonth2025.

To learn more or sign up, visit: https://artsmonth-dbaa.org/community-events/biz-community-listings/. Sign up is quick and easy, we just need basic information about your business and/or event.

If you wish to discuss a customized sponsorship or have other questions, please contact us at [email protected]. For general information about Arts Month May (+June!) and Downtown Brooklyn Arts Alliance, please visit our website: www.artsmonth-dbaa.org.

🌻 “On the ground of that garden, covered in vegetables and dirt, coated in laughter, I want to say that the Mississippi and New York in our Black boy bodies were indistinguishable.” ☀️

We can’t wait for to visit us at the end of March to discuss his new book City Summer, Country Summer with Joseph Earl Thomas, author of The Center for Fiction’s 2024 First Novel Prize-winning novel God Bless You, Otis Spunkmeyer.

A lyrical picture book featuring gorgeous illustrations by artist Alexis Franklin (), City Summer, Country Summer tells the story of three Black boys who form a deep connection during a transformative summer trip down South to visit family. Laymon and Thomas will discuss writing across genres, the spiritual dimension of craft, and breaking new ground in representation.
