African Humanities Association With the closing of the 2021-2022 competition, ACLS will no longer be administering the African Humanities Program.

The AHP aims to revitalize higher education and research in Africa through early-career fellowship competitions in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda. Since 2009, the African Humanities Program has awarded fellowships to more than 450 early career scholars in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda, with the generous support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. No further AHP fellowship competitions are planned.
