NY+acumen NY Acumen Impact Circle is a growing community of professionals in the greater area who seek to support Acumen's mission.

NY+Acumen is a self-organized, volunteer-led group that seeks to inspire and empower like-minded individuals in New York City who are passionate about supporting Acumen's mission to create a world beyond poverty. Our chapter is one of 20 +Acumen chapters around the world sharing the principles of patient capital, cultivating an understanding of Acumen's values, and putting these principles into practice in our community.

Sanna Bedi is our final panelist spotlight for NY+ Acumen presents: Exploring Gender-Lens Investing.

She is an Associate for the UNICEF Innovation Fund where she manages the sourcing and selection process of open source and frontier technology start-ups in developing countries. Previously, she has worked with various international development organizations in providing technical research on development economics and innovative finance, with a gender focus. Sanna also co-founded Global Youth, an international forum focused on engaging youth in foreign affairs. She holds a Master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Delhi.

Kelley Henry is the Executive Director of the SoGal Foundation, the largest global platform for diverse entrepreneurs and investors with 40 chapters across 5 continents. She leads the global expansion of this 100k+ person network with the mission to close the diversity gap by providing resources, education, and community to underrepresented entrepreneurs worldwide. Breaking barriers while building community, culture, and understanding and serving people thoughtfully and inclusively is her personal and professional passion. She has years of experience in thoughtful people management, brand construction, and communication strategies, with an affinity for and focus in D&I. Prior to SoGal, Kelley worked with enterprise startups on the platform team at Work-Bench Ventures, where she led post-investment services, built the fund’s diversity & inclusion strategies, led 200+ annual events, and was Editor-in-Chief of the prominent weekly newsletter focused on enterprise trends in New York. Prior to that she spent time on various early startup teams as a Talent Manager and Project Manager in NYC, Chicago, and Austin, Texas. Kelley serves on the board of The Seeing Place Theatre; she is also an artist, writer, University of Texas alumni, and MBA Candidate at NYU's Stern School of Business.

One of our awesome panelists is Esha M***i. Esha leads knowledge management, insights, and gender at Acumen. She joined Acumen in 2014 as part of the Strategic Partnerships team, where she led proposal development and grants management. Prior to Acumen, Esha worked at the Stimson Center, a security and development think tank in Washington, DC. Esha holds a bachelor's in International and Area Studies from the University of Oklahoma, graduating magna cm laude and with honors. She spent time in Turkey during and following her undergraduate studies, first studying at Bogazici University in Istanbul and later working at Baskent University in Antalya.
