Minds Matter

Minds Matter Minds Matter National–the only branch of the organization that does not directly work with students–provides overseeing support for each Minds Matter chapter.

Minds Matter connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. Minds Matter began in 1991 when a group of Wall Street professionals got together to mentor and tutor inner-city high school students, as well as assist them with applications to competitive preparatory school

s. Now, 24 years later, Minds Matter has chapters in 12 different cities from coast to coast: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Twin Cities, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

Our students work so hard while attending our programs, it’s easy to forget how hard they continue to work once they’ve moved on to college.

Our CEO Savinay Chandrasekhar Nathan will do just about anything to support our Mentees! When Alondra Carlos-Ferrales was trying to secure enough scholarships for a full ride to the University of Colorado Boulder, she needed a little extra incentive to continue her hard work. savinay made a bet with her… If she could get a full ride, he would dye his hair pink, just like hers. At MMCO’s graduation, when Alondra revealed she was fully funded to attend CU-Boulder, sav pulled off his ballcap to reveal he kept his word. He’s such a good sport! We're proud to say Alondra is now entering her senior year studying public relations at CU and is currently an intern at Bespoke.
