ABATE of NY 5 Boroughs Chapter ABATE NY 5 BOROUGHS IS A BIKER'S FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE IN THE FIGHT FOR MOTORCYCLISTS RIGHTS IN NYC Promote motorcycle awareness programs for all motorists.

ABATE NY 5 BOROUGHS PURPOSE IS TO REPRESENT MOTORCYCLISTS IN ALL 5 BOROS OF NYC. Visit our website to learn more: www.abateny5boro.org
* To review and inform our members about federal, state, and local levels of government motorcycle legislation and to promote favorable motorcycle legislation regarding the following:
Insurance, Licensing, Modifications, Bans, Restrictions, Emissions, Noise levels.
* To improve road condition thus making roads safer for motorcyclists, Alerting the D.O.T. of dangerous roadway conditions.
* To help prevent accidents through education. Promote rider education course for motorcyclists.
* To work towards insurance reductions though motorcycle rider education and lower motorcycle accidents.
* To promote positive community relations. Active participation in activities benefiting the common welfare of the community; Active participation in events sponsored by/for charitable organizations;
* To promote political involvement of motorcyclists. Informing members how elected or appointed government representatives voted on legislation affecting motorcyclists. Encouraging members to register and vote; Encouraging qualified members to run for public office; Encouraging members to write their representatives at federal, state, and local levels, on all issues concerning motorcycles: Favorable or Unfavorable.
* Attending motorcycle events and distributing information on current status of motorcycle legislation. Report on elected officials at all levels of government who approve or disapprove of said legislation; To act as an information source to help discrimination against motorcyclists.
*To act as a legislative liaison between motorcyclists and government authorities, police departments, government agencies, insurance companies, and other organizations.
* To report and discourage biased news reporting of motorcyclists.

On behalf of A.B.A.T.E of NY 5BOROUGHS CHAPTER and our President Michael Rock Stone we are so saddened and sorry to hear of the passing of our beloved Elder Brother Grasshopper! He was one of NYC's jewels of the motorcycle set. He welcomed A.B.A.T.E 5B into the his clubhose for many of our meetings over the years whenever we asked, and allowed us to use Black Falcons clubhouse as our starting point for our first Annual and our most recent 5th Annual 5BOROUGHS Motorcycle Awareness and Safety Ride. He will truly be missed. Sending love and prayers of condolences to his family and the Black Falcons MC family.
