Reading Charts for Others: Counseling with Astrology

There is someone sitting across from you, eyes wide open, eagerly wanting to know “What does my chart say about me?” How do you connect with someone who wants to know more? How do you share insights that will, hopefully, galvanize them in the days and months to come? How can we point them in the direction of a healthier, evolving and fulfilling life path by interpreting the meaning of the astrological symbols in their chart? OK. You know the planets & signs & houses & rulerships & aspects, but this isn’t theory. This is a live human being. How do you connect? Where do you begin?

One of the most important parts for doing a birth chart reading is not how well you know astrology, but how well you know and understand people. Knowing astrology gives you a powerful set of tools, but understanding how to reach a client is the goal. Seasoned astrologer Anthony S. Picco discusses what he considers many useful methods of handling clients to create an open, comfortable relationship. All levels of astrology students will be able to enjoy and understand this talk.

BIO: Anthony Picco has been a professional astrologer since 1986. He also offers informal beginners’ lessons and hosts a popular internet radio show called “CosmicTuesdays” every Monday evening from 9:30pm-11pm Eastern Time, at https://www.spreaker.com/show/cosmic-tuesdays

I Have Your Number”. He has also lectured on The Eyes of Learning, “Long Island’s Oldest and Most Respected Teaching and Metaphysical Learning Center,” in Levittown, NY, on The Seth Material, which he has been studying since 1982. "NEPTUNE: Intangible Planet, Invisible Body" by Mark Wolz

Neptune’s subtle energy field alerts us to the higher mind’s intuitive awareness and opens our capacity for conscious healing. Taking our cues from two athletes, two physicists and two gurus, we’ll explore the matrix of body-mind-spirit that supports our functions as living beings.

BIO: Mark Wolz practices and teaches astrology in New York City. He is certified by NCGR. Mark also teaches yoga and is a certified yoga therapist. He holds a B.S. in psychology and an M.A. in anthropology and Southeast Asian studies. Mark is committed to using astrology to cultivate individual and collective responsibility as we integrate body, mind and spirit and reach toward conscious healing for ourselves and the planet.

PS: If you show up a little early, the Quest Bookshop (240 East 53rd St., btw 2nd & 3rd) is an excellent source of many metaphysical books, crystals, incense, tarot decks, pendulums and much more. It is well worth browsing. They close at 7 pm.

DIRECTIONS
The meetup takes place at the Theosophical Society, which is next door to the Quest Bookshop. You may enter through the bookshop before 7 pm (when it closes) or to the left of the bookshop after 7 pm. A sign will be posted on the door you can enter. The following is a rough outline. The meetup will start at 7 pm SHARP.

MEETUP TIMING
7–7:40 - Intros, announcements, and a short talk sharing some astrological fundamentals, especially for beginners, or else an open Q & A about ANY astrological topic
7:40–7:45 - Brief intros from attendees, announcements
7:45–9:00 - Main presentation
9:00–9:15 - Socializing (while putting away chairs)
