Maspeth Industrial Business Association - MIBA

MIBA provides a collective voice in advocating the needs and interests of industrial & manufacturing businesses in Maspeth.

In 2005, the Bloomberg Administration designated the Industrial Business Zones (IBZs) to stabilize primarily industrial areas in New York City. The designation fosters high-performing business districts by creating competitive advantages over locating in areas outside of New York City. The IBZs are supported by tax credits for relocating within them, zone-specific planning efforts, and direct busi

ness assistance from NYC Business Solutions Industrial Providers. Located in western Queens adjacent to Newtown Creek, Maspeth is an area with a long history of industrial activity. The Maspeth Industrial Business Zone (IBZ) is part of a larger complex of industrial areas (i.e. Maspeth, North Brooklyn, and Long Island City) that are clustered around Newtown Creek, which separates the Boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn. At 592 acres, the Maspeth IBZ is one of the largest New York City-designated IBZ’s in terms of total square footage.
