Marking 15 years of championing living composers and amplifying their diverse creative voices, Composers Now will continue the celebration of its milestone anniversary season in a city synonymous with musical innovation with “Dialogues” in New Orleans at the New Orleans Jazz Museum on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m!

The program features Louisiana-rooted composer-performers Courtney Bryan, Sultana Isham, and Steve Lands, showcasing the diversity of contemporary music in the region. Designed to place composers and their creative processes at the center of the experience, Dialogues pairs live performance with conversation, giving audiences insight into the ideas, influences and creative processes behind their work.

Composers Now Founder and Artistic Director Tania León hosts each Dialogues program, guiding conversations with featured artists about the ideas, influences and creative processes behind their work.

On Tuesday, October 13th, we are proud to feature composer Daniel Garbin on our IMPACT Series!

Daniel is an established figure in the dynamic jazz scene of New York City, regularly performing at renowned venues across the city. His journey from an early love of geometry and number theory to a profound fascination with the guitar, music theory, and the intricate relationship between the physical instrument and the theory of music has been nothing short of remarkable.

Presenter Partner Alert! On Thursday, October 15th, Orchestra of St. Luke’s (Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL)) returns to The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center for their 52nd time, with a concert program celebrating the richness and diversity of American music.

Their performance will include Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo” and selections from his Old American Songs, Karen LeFrak’s “Space,” “Gravity” and “Prairie Dawn”; Philip Glass’s modern minimalist Symphony No. 3 and Jessie Montgomery’s anthem to a multi-cultural nation written for the 200th anniversary of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Composers Now would like to congratulate our artistic director and founder, Tania León, for the world premiere performance of her piece “Imágenes Mestizas” with the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel!
Tomorrow, September 29th, will be the last performance at Lincoln Center before the NY Phil will ventures out onto their sold out 2026 European tour from October 9-22, where they will perform her piece alongside Mahler’s 5th Symphony in Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna.

On September 29, The Village Trip presents “Women’s Work”, a concert featuring performances of “Pith” by KiMani Bridges (KiMani Bridges — Music) (2020) and “What I Know About Living” by Devon Lee (Devon Lee) (2022) in celebration of Luna Composition Lab’s 10th Anniversary, Luna Lab@10! The concert will take place at Saint John’s in the Village in NYC.

“Women’s Work” is not a historical retrospective. It is a living argument — made in music and words — that women’s creative voices have always been present, always vital, and have never needed permission to matter.

Presenter Partner Alert! On Wednesday, September 30th, composer and saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart’s “RESISTANCE” Album Release concert will be at the Jazz Gallery in NYC!

Jacques Schwarz-Bart, born in Guadeloupe and based in Boston, is a major figure in contemporary jazz and a pioneer of Gwoka and Voodoo jazz, with his work drawing from Afro-Caribbean traditions, spirituality, and collective memory.

Presenter Partner Alert! ROCO (ROCO) opens its 22nd season with “Eyes on the Horizon”, featuring two world premiere commissions conducted by Artistic Partner Delyana Lazarova (Delyana Lazarova).

The program begins with Jonathan Peters’ “Sonus Colorum”, followed by multimedia premieres of Leanna Primiani’s “VISIONS” (Leanna Primiani) and Alison Shearer’s “The Light Paintings”, (Alison Shearer) inspired by the photography of her late father, John Shearer. The concert concludes with Nino Rota’s rarely performed Symphony No. 3 in C Major. “Eyes on the Horizon” takes place September 25 at Miller Outdoor Theatre, with free admission and a free livestream available online.

Performances take place Friday, Sep. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Miller Outdoor Theatre and Saturday, Sep. 26, at 5:00 p.m. at The Church of St. John the Divine.

Presenter Partner Alert! On Thursday, September 17th, the Boston Symphony Orchestra celebrates its opening night for the 2026-2027 season with a performance of “Tango”, by Latvian composer Arturs Maskats.

With his brief “Tango”, Maskats sought to do for the tango what Ravel did for the waltz, creating a personal and historic orchestral portrait of the sultry dance. The program will also feature a performance of Brahms Symphony No. 4 and Yo-Yo Ma as soloist for Elgar’s Cello Concerto.
