Members and friends of the Seventh District Foundation--
I would like to thank all of you who participated in our fall drive to raise funds to restore a family center in a hospital in Ukraine. With your support, we were able to get the project fully funded!
As I am sure you are all aware, the need for aid in that region is ongoing, and as is so often the case in time of war, the children are the greatest victims. With that in mind, we are partnering with the Masonic Grand Lodge of the State of New York and the Masonic Grand Lodge of Ukraine to send a small group of Ukrainian children to Masonic Camp Turk in the Adirondacks this summer, to provide them with a much needed respite from the troubles they are facing at home.
It is a difficult and complex undertaking, and there are many of us working behind the scenes to navigate the intricacies of securing visas, insurance, and a host of other things. It is a labor of love, and one that we happily participate in.
What we need from you is financial support. The program will be largely funded by the Grand Lodge and the Trustees of Grand Lodge, but the project was originated by Columbia Lodge, one of the member organizations of the Seventh District Foundation, and as such, we would be remiss to not support it vigorously.
I am committing up to $2,500 from my discretionary fund as President toward this endeavor as matching funds toward any donations we receive from you, the members. This means that every dollar you commit to this wonderful project will be twice as valuable to these children. As an organization, we have supported Camp Turk financially for years, and this will serve to greatly enrich that experience for the children who go there year in and year out.
I ask you to give as generously as your means allow, and keep these children of war in your prayers.
