π΄ harassment, including sexual harassment;
π΄ abuse of authority;
π΄ discrimination and bullying in the workplace; and
π΄ other serious ethical or legal breaches, including fraud or corruption.
The Assembly of States Parties Secretariat has now announced that the deadline for submitting information through the confidential due diligence channel for candidates in the 2026 ICC judicial elections has been extended until 30 June 2026.
The confidential channel forms part of the ICC's permanent due diligence procedure for elected officials, established by States Parties in December 2023. It is the first permanent mechanism of its kind within any international organisation and was the result of years of advocacy, consultations and recommendations by civil society organisations, working together with States Parties, the ASP Presidency and Court officials.
β οΈ Allegations can now be reported to the Independent Oversight Mechanism (IOM) by Tuesday 30 June 2026 at [email protected].
The allegations and their review by the IOM will be kept confidential at all times and will be treated in accordance with the process of due diligence. The identity of the complainant will not be disclosed without prior consent. The IOM can also be contacted directly at the above email address with any questions regarding the process.
Importantly, the ASP Secretariat has called on both States Parties and civil society to disseminate information about the process as broadly as possible. A robust due diligence process depends not only on the existence of a reporting mechanism, but also on awareness, trust and participation by those with relevant information.
