This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of children around the world. It’s more than play—it’s problem-solving, creativity, and resilience in action.
By transforming what’s available into opportunities for play, children aren’t just having fun—they’re building skills, confidence, and a deeper connection to the world around them.
This , let’s take inspiration from their ingenuity and rethink what’s possible when we play, create, and care for our planet.
🌱 Every child deserves the chance to learn, play, and thrive.

Children across Lebanon, Gaza, and the West Bank are facing extraordinary challenges: displacement, damaged shelters, disrupted schools, and loss of safe spaces.

Right To Play is on the ground delivering psychosocial support, structured activities, and caregiver assistance to restore routine and stability.

Lebanon: Over 1,000 children are already receiving safe spaces for play and learning in eight emergency shelters, with plans to reach 4,000 children and 1,000 families.

Gaza: More than 300 children have returned to safe learning spaces, with ongoing psychosocial support and emergency assistance for affected families.

West Bank: Our teams continue to reach children remotely ensuring they receive consistent support despite restricted access and heightened risks.

Every child deserves safety, routine, and someone to care. That’s what we deliver…even in the most difficult times.

One in eight adolescent girls worldwide gives birth before she turns 18 — a reality that cuts short her education, her opportunities, and quite often her health.

Every child deserves the chance to grow up with the knowledge, skills, and support to make informed decisions about their future, regardless of their background.

Donate to Right To Play today to make that possible.

Meet Diarra — a 14 year old from Ziguinchoir, Senegal, who once spent more time watching from the sidelines than playing on them.

Loving with asthma meant missed school, missed friendships, and missed opportunities. That changed when she joined a basketball club supported by Right To Play’s RECAF-Jeu project, funded by . Through sport and play based life skills sessions, Diarra found her confidence — and her voice.

She’s since been elected President of the Young Girls Leaders of Zinguinchor and now serves as Vice President of the city’s Children’s Communal Council, advocating for girls’ rights in her community.

Today on , we’re thinking about the millions of young people who grow up without access to health information, support, and services they deserve.

Knowledge is the foundation of good health — but for many young people, especially girls, topics like sexual and reproductive health remain shrouded in stigma and silence. This silence has real consequences: for their bodies, their choices, and their futures.

Play changes that dynamic. When young people can explore different topics through engaging, supportive activities, conversations that once felt impossible become possible. They gain the confidence to ask questions, understand their rights, and make informed decisions about their own lives.

Donate today to help us reach more young people with the support they need.

In 2025, RIGHT TO PLAY Canada partnered with 80 different communities and organizations to support them as they provided programming for at least 4,914 Indigenous children and youth. Our programs play an important role in helping youth build confidence, strengthen life skills, and develop a sense of belonging. It takes a full team (of roughly 23) to support the PLAY program, in partnership with communities and organizations across Canada. We’re proud of the work we do, and we do appreciate your support - which allows us to do it.

Before teachers started integrating play into their lessons, they primarily used the ‘lecture’ method, where children were expected to sit quietly, copying down information, and use rote memorization to retain concepts and prepare for examinations. To control large, unruly classrooms with distracted students, teachers often turned to corporal punishment as a form of discipline for lack of attention. But with the introduction of more engaging lessons and more positive approaches to classroom management, children enjoy coming to school, where they are free to explore and learn.
