We asked Kaniz, Eiton, and King-Michael what helps them find their spark and how they hope to brighten the world.

Through Seeds of Fortune, Navigate the Maze to Achievement, and DMF Youth, they’ve found new ways to learn, express themselves, and imagine how they can make a difference. Their stories offer a small glimpse of the impact youth development programs have every day across New York City.

Our Cofactor Council brings together people who care about creating more opportunities for young people across NYC. Along the way members learn more about the youth development sector and help expand the reach of SparkYouth’s work.

This question brought us back to why that work matters. Every young person deserves the chance to find their spark and people who will help them keep going.

We have some incredible news to share... King Charles spent yesterday afternoon with beloved former SparkYouth Grantee, 👑🌱

SparkYouth was an early investor in Harlem Grown. When we started funding them in 2018, they were already having a remarkable impact, just on a much smaller scale. Since then (and in part, thanks to SparkYouth’s support), they’ve grown 5x, serving 30,000+ community members, distributing over 200,000 pounds of food annually, and on top of it all, hosting royalty!
