We are honored to celebrate our Photographer of the Week, the wonderful Monica Buck! Back in 2014, driven by a personal passion to learn about youth foster care and adoption, Monica reached out to the Heart Gallery. She generously offered her artistic talents to help the children find their “forever families”.

Monica is a frequent contributor to numerous respected magazines and national advertising campaigns. Based between New York and South Florida, she has had several books published, ranging from cookbooks to home decorating!
Her inspiration to document different people, places, food (and more!) comes from the cultural contrasts and celebration of differences she got to explore as a first-generation American and child of Cuban and German parents.

Michael is a very bright child who prefers to be called and identifies as Michelle.

Michelle is confident, thoughtful and intelligent.

Favorites include ice cream, math and puzzles.

Michelle would like to grow up to become a doctor, and would benefit from a family who could offer stability and boundaries.

We are incredibly honored to celebrate a photographer whose connection to the Heart Gallery NYC runs deep. Michael was there with us at the very beginning, donating his incredible talent when we first launched in NYC in 2006 to photograph a wonderful child named AJ.
Michael views photography as a powerful platform to capture pure, unfiltered magic and authenticity. While he is deeply passionate about expanding our minds to the wisdom of the animal kingdom, it’s his ability to capture the honest, true essence of his subjects that makes his work so compelling.
As Michael says: “I love the word ‘authenticity.’ It’s what matters most to me in a photograph... it’s what I strive for when I shoot.”
Whether he is giving a voice to animals or capturing the beautiful spirit of our Heart Gallery children, Michael’s thought-provoking images force us to pause, look closer, and feel deeper.

Meet Jordan, our inspiring 17-year-old Child of the Month! ❤️

Jordan is a focused, energetic, and bright young man who loves diving into a great book, watching movies, and playing games. He is also a budding chef, currently exploring the world through his international cuisine cooking class, where he loves mastering new recipes and trying unique dishes.

Jordan is ready to find his forever family to walk alongside him as he transitions into adulthood. His ideal home absolutely includes some cat companions and siblings to bond with! May was National Foster Care Month, and to honor youth in foster care, we’re sharing a glimpse into the lives of two incredible siblings: Nadia and Nickita. 🤍

While their adoption plan means finding separate families, the bond they share is unbreakable. They have a deep love for one another and need families who will help them stay connected as they transition into young adults.
