EnCanta Collective enCANTA Collective is a vocal chamber ensemble dedicated to exploring musical repertoire from all eras and cultures.

In its ninth season, enCanta presents a series of three concerts each year, exploring music from all eras and cultures. By creating inventive juxtapositions of the old and the new, the esemble seeks to offer audiences fresh perspectives on familiar favorites and the pleasure of eploring more recent works. The name enCanta Collective is a play on words: encanta in Spanish means "it delights" canta

is from the spanish or Italian verb " to sing". The word "collective" describes our desire to collaborate with an ever-expanding pool of talented musicians.

Meet the Cast:
Residing and teaching in Manhattan, Soprano Liana Rose Graffanino, most recently sang as a soloist for St. Patrick’s Cathedral's annual A City Singing At Christmas, with the New York City Master Chorale, broadcasted live to Vatican City and nationwide. Her last performance was with New York Summer Opera Scenes under the direction of Carol Yahr and conductor Joshua Greene as Konstanze, in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Previous scene work includes Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira), La Giuditta (Giuditta), Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Giulietta), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina). Other credits include The Sailorboy and The Falcon featuring Soprano Stephanie Blythe (Solveig) and Orpheus in the Underworld (Juno). She holds a Bachelor’s in music performance and education from the Crane School of Music, where she received The Olive Dillenbeck Goodrich Memorial Award for outstanding academic achievement and The Certificate of Honor in music performance. She has studied voice with Metropolitan Opera Soprano Claudia Waite and is currently under the tutelage of Joan Caplan and coaches with Nobuko Ameniya. Liana received her Master's degree in vocal performance at Manhattan School of Music and is excited to return with enCanta Collective, as the older stepsister, Clorinda.

Meet the Cast:
Lesley Dolman is a Canadian mezzo-soprano currently based in New York City. She recently obtained her Master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Joan Patenaude-Yarnell. Her recent credits include Arthur Sullivan's The Rose of Persia (Heart's Desire) with Utopia Opera, Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hippolyta). While at Manhattan School of Music she performed in Mozart’s The Magic Flute (Third Lady) and Rachel Peters’ newly composed opera, Companionship (Dough). Previous credits include Verdi’s La Traviata (Annina) with Opera on the Avalon in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Britten’s Albert Herring (Florence Pike) with Opera NUOVA in Edmonton, Alberta. During her Undergraduate training at the University of British Columbia, where she studied with Heather Thompson-Price, she performed in Dvořak’s Rusalka (Third Woodsprite), Robert Ward’s The Crucible(Susanna Walcott), Massenet’s Cendrillon (Fifth Spirit and Dorothée), Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (Third Spirit) and Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Second Cercatrice). Lesley was granted the Gordon and Euna Lumb Award in Voice and Opera from the University of British Columbia in 2011, was the recipient of the Winspear Fund Scholarship for Advanced Classical Music from the Edmonton Community Foundation in 2008 and again in 2012. She is also the 2014 winner of the vocal division of the Northern Alberta Concerto Competition, and performed Ravel's Schéhérazade with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra in May of 2014.

Meet the Cast:
Kathryn Supina has been praised for her “lovely soprano voice” and “charming manner”. Favorite roles include Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, and Fiona in Brigadoon. She has performed with the Janiec Opera Company, Opera in the Ozarks, OperaWorks, and the College Light Opera Company. Ms. Supina holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Voice Performance from the Universities of Delaware and North Texas, respectively. This fall, she will perform the role of Marie in New York Opera Exchange’s production of La fille du régiment.

Meet the Cast:
Adam Margulies is a classically trained opera singer that has performed on stage in professional companies, festivals, and recital series internationally and is a winner of the UNESCO Sponsored Orfeo Competition. He has studied with such notables as Leo Nucci, Gabriel Bacquier and Sherrill Milnes, and also with former head of the Actors Studio, David Gideon. Recently he has produced the film “The Bohemians†in which he starred as Marcello in association with Alvaro Domingo and Grammy award winning sound engineer Rafa Sardina. Meet the Cast:
Carla Wesby is maintaining a busy schedule as a soloist and choral singer in NYC. She was most recently seen in the extra chorus of “Die Meistersinger” at the Metropolitan Opera. Last June, she sang the 2nd Fairy solos in Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with New York City Ballet.
She has been in the ensemble of “Anna Nicole”, “Moses in Egypt”, “Madama Butterfly”, and “Esther” with New York City Opera. She has also been in the ensemble of “Les Huguenots”, “Der Ferne Klang”, “Le Roi Malgre Lui”, “Oresteia”, and “Euryanthe” at Bard Summerscape.
She has been a soloist with New York Philharmonic, American Symphony Orchestra, Mineola Choral Society, Canterbury Choral Society, Brooklyn Contemporary Chorus, Big Apple Baroque, Staten Island Symphony, and National Chorale. She has sung various operatic roles with Martha Cardona Theater, One World Symphony, and Opera Collective, of which she is a founding member.
She is a cantor and section-leader at St Patrick’s Cathedral, which affords her the opportunity to be seen and heard on television, radio, and internet frequently. She will be presenting a recital on May 30th at 2pm at St Malachy’s (The Actors Chapel). She will also be returning to Bard Summerscape to sing in the ensemble of “The Wreckers”.

Meet the Cast:
Soprano HongKyung Kim performed at the Martina Arroyo's Role Class Concert as Adina(L'elisir d'amore) earlier this month. She also has appeared at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) and with Vocal Productions NYC , One World Symphony, New York Lyric Opera Theatre, and many more. New Jersey's Star-Ledger mentioned her as a “silvery soprano” for her portrayal of Nerina in the US premiere of Haydn's Le Pescatrici, which was broadcast live through WWFM The Classical Network in the US. The New York Concert Review described her as "the expressive soprano" when she appeared in the Chopin and Schumann bicentennial celebration concert at Carnegie Hall. In 2013, She had an honor to sing for Mirella Freni at CUBEC in Italy. She has performed Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Despina (Cosí fan tutte), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Pamina and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Zerlina(Don Giovanni), Despina(Cosi fan tutte), Daisy (The Great Gatsby), Peasblossom (Midsummernight's Dream) and Nerina (Le Pescatrici). She participated in OperaWorks (LA) in 2014 and attended SongFest (LA) as a recipient of the Stern Fellowship in 2013. Dr. Kim recently won the outstanding performance award from Metropolitan International Vocal Competition. She also won 2nd place in the professional division at The Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition in 2011 and the grand prize at Kyung-sung University Vocal Competition (Busan,Korea). She performed at Opera on the Avalon (St. John's, Canada) and the Atlantic Music Festival (Waterville, ME) on summer of 2014. She holds two graduate degrees(Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy) from the New England Conservatory of Music and doctoral degree at Rutgers University. Meet The Cast:Native New Yorker Perri Sussman is a versatile mezzo-soprano who has performed repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary. She has been on the rosters of prestigious companies including the Bronx Opera Company, Dicapo Opera Theatre, Opera Company of Brooklyn, Regina Opera Company, Amore Opera, and OperaOggiNY. Her roles with these companies include Angelina in La Cenerentola, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Annina in La Traviata, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Paggio in Rigoletto, La Suora Infermiera/Una Conversa in Suor Angelica, Third Spirit in The Magic Flute, and Second Daughter/Second Voice in Beauty and the Beast. She debuted the role of Alzubra in the world premiere of Made in America: The Interview with OperaOggiNY at Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in New York City. For this performance, she was described as a “rich mezzo” and was hailed as “a highlight of the evening” (Voce di meche). She was invited to perform with the New York Opera Alliance representing OperaOggiNY at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City and again the following year at the National Opera Center. She was also one of the vocal soloists in the world premiere of Gilbert and Sullivan the Ballet! with Dances Patrelle.
Ms. Sussman was an Apprentice Artist with Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point where she performed Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte and Charlotte in A Little Night Music. Ms. Sussman has also made appearances with the New York Lyric Opera Theatre as Grimgerde in Die Walküre, Una Conversa in Suor Angelica, Le Prince Charmant in Cendrillon, and Tessa in The Gondoliers in such venues as the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, and the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Hall at Symphony Space.
Ms. Sussman made her Carnegie Hall debut in the 2011 Master Singer Finalist Concert for the Nico Castel International Master Singer Competition. She was named the 2012 Grand Prize Winner in the voice category of the Ensemble 212 Young Artist Competition. She was a finalist in the 2012 New York Lyric Opera Theatre Vocal Competition, and she won second place in the 2009 NATS New York City Chapter Student Vocal Auditions.
Ms. Sussman earned her Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music where she performed Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor, and Un Pâtre in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Westminster Choir College where she performed La Ch**te in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges and covered Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. She received the Lucille and Leo Martin Scholarship award after winning first place in the 2005 Westminster Scholarship Voice Competition. She has appeared in master classes led by Martina Arroyo, Margaret Lattimore, Ken Benson, Sesto Quatrini, Scott George, Maestro Willie Waters, Rebecca Sherburn, and Donatella Dorsi.
This season, Ms. Sussman will return to the Bronx Opera Company as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. She currently resides in New York City and studies voice with Mark Oswald.
