Tuesday night was a great night for the ducks on Staten Island. Great group of people got together at Joe's Lobster House to raise money for waterfowl. Thanks to Joe at the Lobster House for a great meal and special thanks to Chapter Chairman Ralph Luppino and his daughter Mia for running a fabulous event.

Ducks Unlimited and Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Organization join together for conservation!

Ducks Unlimited and BTT to Collaborate on Wetlands Restoration
BTT, Ducks Unlimited (DU) and Ducks Unlimited Mexico (DUMAC) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to restore, conserve and protect coastal wetlands in Mexico. DU CEO Adam Putnam and BTT President and CEO Jim McDuffie jointly announced and signed the new partnership on May 30, 2024, at the Ducks Unlimited International Convention in San Diego.

“Each of our organizations shares a commitment to the restoration and conservation of coastal wetlands, recognizing the critical habitat they provide for waterfowl and fish,” McDuffie said in making the announcement. “This new alliance will accelerate BTT’s work in Mexico while enhancing our collective ability to achieve greater environmental impact and economic benefits for local communities.”

The initial area of focus will be along the Mexican Yucatán, where work is already underway by DU Mexico to restore altered hydrology and revive the mangrove ecosystem.
