we can’t wait for this amazing fundraiser at tonight! one of our incredible case managers has pulled together this incredible BIPOC-fronted punk show at one of our most beloved local spaces. played an unforgettable benefit for nyaaf back in 2018, and we’re so grateful for the collective of folks coming together to share their skills and creativity in support of abortion access ✨

In 2023, we are seeing an even further and deeply alarming increase in abortion fund caller volume and need. As New York expands as an access state, we are seeing even more people traveling here for care, and our average pledge has continued to rise, with some abortions costing up to $22,000.

In the first seven weeks of 2023, we have already pledged $421,778. You read that right. Nearly half a million dollars in less than two months.

If we continue to fund at this rate, we would be on track to pledge more than $3 million this year—nearly triple what we pledged in 2022, and more than six times what we pledged in 2021. It breaks our hearts to say this, but we simply do not have the financial resources to continue to meet this demand. If we continue funding at this rate, and without additional funding resources, we could come to a point where we’d have to pause abortion funding for the first time in our 22 year history. We can’t let this happen. Please make a generous gift to support callers today at the link in our bio, and help sound the alarm.

Funding abortion is a radical act of community care. New York is seeing a historic number of people traveling to get care. During this movement moment, we are looking for new leaders at NYAAF! ✨

We’re looking for 3-5 new board members who reflect the lived experience of our callers, are dedicated to reproductive justice, and are committed to working in collective. We seek to center the leadership of people who have had abortions, used abortion funds, and had difficulty accessing abortion. We also seek to center groups most impacted by reproductive oppression and other intersecting injustices in our leadership — Black, Indigenous peoples and other people of color, trans and gender nonconforming people, folks from low income communities, people with disabilities, immigrants, young parents, and people at the intersections of these identities are encouraged to apply.

Created by acclaimed writer and musician Cynthia Kaplan and directed by Emmy winning and Tony nominated Dani Davis, Cindy of Arc appeared in 2021 as a concert film at the famed Cinequest International Film Festival, and as a sold out off-Broadway workshop in April of 2022.
