The 2025 Annual Homeless Assessment Report found an 8% drop in homelessness — one of the highest decreases in the nation.

Nevertheless, we remain in crisis. New York still has the highest rate of homelessness in the U.S. and the progress we have made is being threatened by federal funding cuts.

A huge thank you to Turner Construction Company for recently volunteering at Louise’s Pantry on the Lower East Side and helping support our community during a distribution day.

We’re also very grateful to Michael Mascarina and Amy Molloy of Turner Construction Company, who also serve on Nazareth Housing’s Board of Directors, for helping coordinate this meaningful volunteer day and strengthening the partnership between our organizations.

"At Turner, our commitment to building stronger communities goes far beyond the projects we deliver,ā€ said Michael. ā€œThrough our partnership with Nazareth Housing and our recent volunteer efforts at Louise’s Pantry on the Lower East Side, our people came together to support food distribution and serve people facing real challenges. These moments reflect who we are—dedicated to creating lasting impact not just in the built environment, but in the communities we work in and call home. We look forward to doing more!"

Volunteers play a vital role in helping us serve our neighbors with dignity and care. Interested in getting involved? Learn more about volunteer opportunities at https://nazarethhousingnyc.org/volunteer/

There’s nothing quite like the joy of a good story. šŸ“š

Each month, members of Nazareth Housing’s Junior Board visit Thorpe Family Residence to share the magic of reading with children in our community. These special afternoons inspire imagination, encourage a love of learning, and create meaningful connections.

Nazareth Housing’s 2026 Annual Benefit raised more than $675,000 to support our critical homelessness prevention and housing stability programs. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and helped make this incredible evening possible.

ā€œTo truly understand the work we do at Nazareth Housing, it helps to imagine what a year might look like for many of the people who come through our doors,ā€ said Executive Director Rachel Levine. ā€œWhen people are overwhelmed, what they are often looking for is not simply a service. They are looking for someone they trust.ā€

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us provide stability, dignity, and support to families across New York City.
