On International Day of Rivers, the Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) calls for urgent and meaningful action to protect the River Indus and its Delta.
The Indus is the lifeline of Sindh—sustaining its people, agriculture, economy, ecosystems, history and culture. Its Delta and mangrove forests are vital to coastal communities, fisheries and the ecological health of the Arabian Sea.
SANA urges sustainable and equitable water management that guarantees adequate freshwater flows from the Indus to its Delta and the Arabian Sea. The survival of the Delta, its communities and ecosystems depends on maintaining these essential flows.
The Indus is not merely a river—it is the living heritage of Sindh and a vital ecological system that must be protected for present and future generations.
Protect the Indus. Save the Delta. Ensure freshwater reaches the Arabian Sea
