This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Legion of Good Will (LGW) reinforces the importance of raising awareness, encouraging prevention, and promoting access to information about breast health.

Early detection can make a difference. Staying informed, knowing your body, and keeping up with recommended screenings are important steps in caring for your health.

Let’s spread awareness, offer support, and remind one another that no one has to face their challenges alone.

n the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi, we celebrate a life devoted to peace, love, humility, and service to others.

Born in Assisi, Italy, Saint Francis chose a life of simplicity and dedication to the teachings of Jesus, becoming an enduring example of compassion, selflessness, and love for all.

Saint Francis also holds a special place in the history of the Legion of Good Will, having been declared the Saint of Ecumenism and Patron of LGW by our Honorary President and Consolidator, Brother Paiva Netto, in recognition of his influence on the Organization’s early development.

Today, we invite you to pause, reflect, and carry the spirit of the Prayer of Saint Francis into our daily lives: choosing peace where there is conflict, love where there is hatred, and hope where there is despair. 🙏💙

May we always seek to be instruments of peace and Good Will.

Another delivery, another step toward a brighter future! 🎒💙

Yesterday, we brought our Backpacks for a Bright Future campaign to East Side High School in Newark, NJ, delivering backpacks filled with school supplies to help students start the school year ready to learn.

Every backpack represents more than school supplies. It’s a gesture of care, dignity, and support for students and families in our community. 📚✨

We’re grateful to everyone who continues to make this campaign possible — our donors, volunteers, partners, and everyone who believes in the power of education.

Together, we can help more students begin the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and dream big.

This Friday, September 18, we celebrate the birthday of the President of the Legion of Good Will (LGW), journalist and radio broadcaster Brother Francisco Periotto, who served for nearly half a century as a faithful advisor to our Honorary President and Consolidator, Brother Paiva Netto (1941–2025).

On behalf of all those whose lives are touched by the LGW’s programs and initiatives, as well as our volunteers, donors, supporters, and collaborators, and the students, families, and staff of the LGW’s Paiva Netto Educational Center, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your dedication to carrying forward our important mission of Solidarity, Education, and Peace.💙 Your devotion and purpose have been a guiding light for us, and we’re forever grateful.

Sometimes, the things we give are the things we once needed ourselves. 💙

As part of our Backpacks for a Bright Future campaign, we recently brought school supplies to students at the Newark School of Architecture & Interior Design.

In this video, volunteer Christian Jones shares a powerful perspective: having once needed these kinds of resources himself, he understands firsthand how meaningful it is to now be in a position to help others.

His story is a beautiful reminder that when we give, we can turn our own experiences into opportunities for someone else. 🙏✨

The 2026 Backpacks for a Bright Future campaign is making an impact in our community!

A few days ago, we brought our campaign to Oliver Street School in Newark, NJ, where backpacks filled with essential school supplies were distributed to students and families in the school community.

We are grateful to the school staff, partners, and volunteers who helped make this distribution possible. Together, we’re helping students begin the new school year with confidence, dignity, and hope. 🙏✨
