Last call to register for an evening with Elisha Wiesel!

Although we are officially sold out for Clal’s Jewish@Work’s Leading Jewish Voices Distinguished Speaker Series, there is still time to register to join us on Zoom. On Tuesday, October 20 from 6:00–7:30 pm we’re hosting an evening with Elisha Wiesel, Chairman of The Elie Wiesel Foundation, and son of Clal founder Elie Wiesel, moderated by Zoya Raynes, Managing Director at Bank of America.

The Leading Jewish Voices Distinguished Speaker Series brings together Jewish employee resource groups, professionals, and allies in person and virtually for meaningful conversation with prominent voices in Jewish life, leadership, and culture. Meeting every other month, each gathering features a distinguished speaker offering their perspective on what it means to be Jewish at work. It is a space to learn, laugh, and build community across industries in New York City.

This week, Clal President Rabbi Brad Hirschfield was quoted in Forbes in a piece by Andrew Tisch entitled "In A Polarized America, Our Contempt For One Another May Block Solutions." Tisch argues that America's greatest threat may not be our national debt, geopolitical rivals, or even AI, but our growing inability to see one another as fellow citizens.

He turned to Rabbi Hirschfield for practical ways to break out of our silos of mistrust. Drawing on ancient Jewish wisdom, and among other insights, Rabbi Hirschfield encourages us to ask ourselves, "How do I allow myself to say those ideas are bad, but that person is not?"

Join us November 1, 2026 in Providence, RI for a one-day conference co-presented by Brown University's Program in Judaic Studies, Brown RISD Hillel, and Clal. Together we will explore hope, optimism, and faith through Jewish thought, academic insight, and their application to everyday life.

In a world that can feel increasingly chaotic, the richness of Jewish intellectual and spiritual tradition, and its ability to help us understand and access what it means to live with hope and faith, has never felt more urgent. Through conversation, learning, and shared reflection, we will discover new ways of understanding how these ancient ideas can help us move forward and live more fully.
