We’re grateful to work with , a family-led organization advancing research for Christianson syndrome, a rare and life-limiting genetic condition. Through this partnership, RTW Foundation is supporting their efforts to strengthen research strategy, explore viable therapeutic pathways, and move promising science closer to patients and families who urgently need hope.
We’re honored to stand alongside Lachie’s Wish 4 CS as they work to accelerate progress and build a brighter future for the Christianson syndrome community.

February is Rare Disease Month, and RTW Foundation is grateful to raise awareness of the huge burden that rare and ultra-rare diseases represent to families and patients. Ultra-rare diseases are often neglected by the pharmaceutical industry owing to the small number of patients who live with these conditions. Throughout the month, we will highlight key challenges in the rare disease space, our rare disease partners, and share how our team is working to streamline the path to therapies for patients.

Our BioQuest Ambassadors recently took part in a specialized workshop with Científico Latino on how to make the most of their journey in the sciences! During an interactive panel, BioQuest students heard personal stories and advice from graduate students at Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, and Rockefeller University.

The session included breakout discussions, where students received live feedback on their summer research personal statements and explored topics like choosing the right major, building community in college, navigating undergraduate research, and finding summer opportunities. We're grateful to do workshops like this to equip our ambassadors with real insight, mentorship, and tools to confidently navigate their futures in STEM.

We’re excited to continue our partnership with Hamilton-Madison House in expanding mental health services for NYC’s Asian American community! The grant will support training for a postdoctoral fellow to deliver culturally adapted care and grow a pipeline of mental health professionals dedicated to serving this community. This work will bring specialized care to 30-40 more individuals with complex mental health needs.

Last week, our Director of Research, Joe Katakowski, PhD, joined fellow leaders Dr. Panteli Theocharous, Charlene Son Rigby, Brad Watts, and John Aguilar at the Evolution of the CGT Sector conference to discuss how the field can scale innovation and reach more patients worldwide.

Over two days, researchers, regulators, clinicians, and patient advocates explored the future of cell and gene therapy, from industrializing CGT manufacturing to advancing patient access and regulatory innovation. The panelists highlighted the importance of collaboration across science, policy, and patient communities to accelerate the delivery of life-changing therapies. We’re grateful to be part of this important conversation shaping the future of advanced medicines.
