Ziggy’s first vet visit today !!! Thank you all who donated to make it possible! She is 40% underweight so we have a lot to do here but she will get all the attention she needs to make up for lost time and calories. Fingers crossed. We are not sure why she is so underweight but she is eating so there is hope! Soon she will be unified with Buggie. Two bottle babies ❤️❤️❤️@.paws @

For years, some caves went quiet in a way nature never intended.

Now the dark is starting to breathe again.

White-nose syndrome attacks hibernating bats when they are most vulnerable, waking them too often and draining the fat reserves meant to carry them through winter.

The fungus first appeared in North America in 2006, then spread with brutal efficiency. In some colonies, the losses were so severe that entire ceilings once packed with bats became bare stone.

That is what makes this rebound so strange and hopeful. Survivors may be better at resisting infection, choosing safer roosts, or simply enduring what wiped out millions before them.

Bats are not just cave decorations with wings. They devour insects by the thousands, protect crops, and keep night ecosystems in balance while most of the world sleeps.

A cave filling with bats again is not just a comeback.

It is the sound of nature refusing to stay empty.

Need more reasons to not be a jerk?

A brief act of abandonment quickly turned into a story that has spread widely online.

According to reports circulating on social media, security footage showed a man leaving his dog on a dark street before driving away. Not long after, lightning struck and his vehicle reportedly crashed into a pole.

Authorities later reviewed the footage, charged the man with animal abandonment, and took him into custody. The dog survived the ordeal and was adopted by local police officers. He now lives safely at the station, surrounded by care and attention.

While the circumstances surrounding the crash have fueled discussion, many are focusing on the positive outcome for the dog. What began as a painful moment ended with safety, accountability, and a second chance.

Another day another vet bill. Bevin is loved by so many but he has been quite a handful with his health issues. He is one of the coolest cats ever and he has been through quite a lot way before he was even dumped at our doorstep. Today he is back with his vet to see why he stopped eating and drinking. We suspect he has IBD which means super strict diet, monitoring etc … please help us help him. There is not one person who met him that has not fallen in love with him. Please consider making a tax deductible donation vie Venmo or PayPal [email protected] thank you in advance. We are still waiting to find out what our next option for him is❤️❤️
