Today we celebrated the career of our Community Affairs Officer Detective Jaime Hernandez.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that we as a community Thank You!!! For over 3 decades you served us to make not only our community a better place to live, you strived and succeeded to build a strong, positive relationship between the officers of the 9th Precinct and our community.
We send you the best of wishes on your well deserved retirement. You have more than earned it.
Thank you for your service. You will be missed.

Good Afternoon All,

We here at the 9th Precinct Community Council would like to take a moment to wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving, we hope that you all have an abundance to be Thankful for.

With the holidays now upon us we hope that the spirit of giving is also in your heart. As you may know our Annual Children's Holiday Party will be held on Saturday December 17, 2022 at 9am. This time honored tradition is looked on with Anticipation by all the kids in the East Village. This is their opportunity to meet Santa and for many get their only gifts of the holiday season. This event and all our events that we hold for our community take not only time and planning they also take money and this year after not being able to fundraise for over 2 years we are cash strapped more than ever. We hope that with the spirit of the season you will find yourself in a position of generosity and will be able to make a donation to this worthy cause.
We are also now a 501c3 organization which makes all of your generosity tax deductible.

Thank You to the Officer's of the 9th Precinct on today's arrest of the prime suspect in yesterday's subway shooting. We applaud all of your hard work today and everyday.

The man suspected of setting off smoke bombs and spraying gunfire inside a New York City subway car, injuring 23 people, was arrested on Wednesday on a federal charge of violently attacking a mass transportation system, capping an around-the-clock manhunt.

Our annual children's holiday party was a success. A little rain couldn't dampen the spirits of Santa and all the kids who came out to see him.
Special thanks to The Manhattan School for Career Development for the use of the schoolyard, Macy's for giving Santa the morning to spend time with the kids, NYU for their generous donation and the SAGE organization for donating the toys!!!
The 9th Precinct for all their assistance in putting this event on, The 9th Precinct Community Council and our Volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success!!!
Thank you All!!!
We made close to a thousand children from the East Village have a very Merry Christmas!!!
