Scope of Activities:
To maintain and promote the loyalty of its alumni to Fisk University; to promote the interest of Fisk University generally; to establish and administer fundraising related other endeavors undertaken by the alumni; to organize and mobilize strength of the alumni and cooperate with the University in suggesting and of designed to affect the continued growth and welfare of Fisk University; to an interest and usefulness of Fisk University, and to these ends to take and hold gift, grant, purchase, lease, or otherwise any property, real, personal, tangible, of best promoting the alumni chapter and Fisk University. Over the years Fisk has gained an international reputation for the high quality of its educational programs as well as its outstanding alumni. Even before regional accreditation was available to historically black institutions in the South, the work of Fisk had gained recognition by the Board of Regents of New York State and by leading universities throughout the nation.

14 years ago at the home of Fisk Alumna Linda Myles' Harlem Brownstone, the NY Fisk Alumni Association hosted our back to school send-off event for incoming students and current students. In the photo centered is Mr. Fisk Ambassador of NY and Mr. UNCF Inter-Alumni Council Member, Eloyd Thomas, a Fisk Forever Alumni Son on the altar and an Alpha Chi Alumni of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He was a mentor and friend to us all. Fond memories slowly fades away....

Special recognition to the Greater New Orleans Fisk Alumni Association for hosting its Inaugural "Roots and Wings" Student Send-Off event. This was an inspirational gathering that our ancestors and the culture would have been proud of.

I will not spoil it by sharing the program agenda but let's just say it had features and guests from the single high school that has sent the highest number of students from New Orleans who became Fisk Forever Alumni to Fisk University from the oldrst Black Catholic school in the country, Saint Mary's High School. The Honorable Pamela Roger's was in attendance and shared words.

An amazing talented 13 year old channeled and Ella Fitzgerald spirit with two selections. And we had spiritual fellowship to bless the incoming and current students headed to Fisk University.
