Dear Friends,
We are being evicted by September 30th, and I am making a public plea for your help. This summer, 298 youth (ages 14-24) participated in Outdoor Leadership Academy-SYEP and PlacemakingCorps, building knowledge and skills, while earning stipends, living allowances, federal education awards, and scholarships for college. The 400+ youth served each year by Concrete Safaris at the East Harlem Health Action Center will not have a place to receive services without interruption, if we are kicked to the curb so abruptly. Update: Thank you to everyone who has picked up a backpack.... So far, we've given away 850 backpacks since this morning. We still have 150 backpacks .... If you know of a child or youth that needs the backpacks, please send them to our office today before 4PM. 158 E 115th St, Ste 144, at Lexington Avenue. We do not have the capacity to deliver at this time.

Healthy choices start with knowledge! 🥗💪

The OLA-SYEP Photography Cohort welcomed guests from Anthem for an interactive workshop on nutrition, personal health, and career readiness. Interns learned about healthy eating, exercise, and making informed nutrition choices, while also having the opportunity to ask questions and lead the conversation.
