🔔 New research alert!

How can climate action🍃 be better connected to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agendas?

💡 Our latest research examines how climate change is shaping conflict dynamics and highlights the barriers local organizations face — from limited access to flexible funding and decision-making spaces to gaps in accountability and protection.

Thank you 🙏 to Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada Peace and Stabilization Operations Program (PSOP) for supporting action research to strengthen the integration of , , and climate action.

🕊️ From commitments to locally led action.

GNWP 🟣, in partnership with the Austrian Development Agency under International Partnerships Austria, brought together 14 representatives from Armenia 🇦🇲, Azerbaijan 🇦🇿, Georgia 🇬🇪, Moldova 🇲🇩, Uganda 🇺🇬, and Ukraine 🇺🇦 to translate WPS priorities into concrete, locally relevant actions.

Participants developed SMART objectives, identified entry points for integrating WPS pillars into nexus programming, and reflected on the importance of:

🤝 Planning and financing humanitarian, development, peace, and WPS efforts together
👩🏽‍💼 Recognizing local women’s leadership as a strategic asset
🌱 Strengthening local systems, institutions, civil society, and women’s movements
📍 Addressing both immediate vulnerabilities and structural inequalities

➡️ In the coming months, participants will apply their learning through WPS and Triple Nexus initiatives in their communities.

🌍 On International and always, GNWP celebrates and elevates as powerful agents of peace and change.

Across communities and countries, young women are leading efforts to prevent conflict, advance gender equality, strengthen social cohesion, and build more inclusive and sustainable peace. 🕊️

Yet, their leadership is too often overlooked or excluded from decision-making spaces.

📣 Integrating and is crucial to elevating young women’s voices, experiences, and leadership and ensuring they have a meaningful role in shaping a more peaceful, inclusive, and just future.

‼️ On the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we reaffirm the importance of recognizing Indigenous women and peoples as agents of change and ensuring their meaningful participation in decisions that affect their lives, communities, and futures.

📣 Today, we honor their voices, rights, knowledge, and leadership.

Peace cannot be inclusive when Indigenous voices are left out. 🕊️
