This Sunday. One day only.

In a world stripped of life, sustenance, and water, survival means staying alone. Diana Winters has done just that — until a soldier collapses in what was once her driveway. She lets him in. And with him… danger may now be inside her home.

We’re thrilled to welcome David H. Parker as the director of our Staged Reading in July ‘25 of Colorada by Amanda Stamm!

A longtime champion of new work and fresh voices, David brings a keen eye and dynamic spirit to the project.

⛰️

David H. Parker (they/them) is a New York City-based director, playwright, producer, and arts leader with over a decade of experience.

Their work is rooted in intersectionality, exploring HIV, gender, and the complexities of Black, Q***r, and Southern identity. Their artistic and leadership practices center consent, radical care and critical kindness, as well as Dr. Tricia Hersey’s The Nap Ministry

As Co-Artistic Director of the Birmingham Black Repertory Theatre Collective , David has helped steward over $250,000 into Birmingham and other southern communities; collaborated with Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winners; was a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award Finalist for “Fat Ham”; and has been published in Tributaries (2024) by the Alabama Folklife Association

Their interview with André De Shields will appear in SETC Magazine  (2025). David holds an MFA from UCLA—and does need a surprising number of naps.

🦌

We’re honored to have David at the helm of Colorada, a new play by Amanda Stamm — a story of grief, healing, and unexpected adventure, set against the wild backdrop of a family road trip to the Rocky Mountains.

✨ Bluebird Salon: The Shape of Things was one for the books! ✨

We were thrilled to welcome a packed house for staged readings of bold new works by Megan Quick, Amanda Stamm, Allie Costa, and Gracie Rittenberg — brought to life by an incredible team of artists. The energy was electric, the stories unforgettable, and the community spirit strong as ever.
