Before she was even born, Camryn endured a brain bleed. At just 6 months old, she had her first seizure – and another just six months later. When she was 3, she had a double hip surgery and had to celebrate her 4th birthday in the hospital. A year later, she had another surgery – once again spending her birthday in a hospital bed.

Even throughout years of surgeries, tests and fluctuations in the number of seizures she endures, Camryn continues to push through her illness with strength and resilience. And when it came time to make her wish, she dreamed of a custom sensory room at home where she could continue to learn, play and grow surrounded by her family.

With the help of supporters like you, Camryn’s wish came true. She grinned from ear to ear when she first saw her room, which was tailored with her unique needs and style in mind. Today, “Camryn’s Sensory Spot” is filled with joy and laughter – a space where she feels safe, loved and happy.

After receiving his diagnosis, Pierce spent 118 days in the hospital, where he endured nearly 20 surgeries, more than a dozen blood transfusions and a bone marrow transplant. As I spent my time at his bedside with our newborn, my daughter Sierra was left heartbroken at home without me, Pierce or her new baby sister.

Even after Pierce was finally discharged, we were all constantly worried. Would his body reject the bone marrow transplant? Would he have a bad reaction to his medication? We just wanted to feel joy again. When Make-A-Wish® came into our lives, they gave us the chance to feel exactly that: normalcy and togetherness amid so much uncertainty.
