As part of our preparedness efforts for this summer's events, we conducted a tabletop exercise with our members' trauma medical directors, program managers, and emergency managers. Last week, GNYHA's Mass Burn Patient Surge–FIFA Hospital Summit convened hospitals, New York City Fire Department (FDNY), NYC Emergency Management, Eastern Regional Burn Disaster Consortium, and local and state public health partners to evaluate the region's readiness for a catastrophic burn incident ahead of the FIFA World Cup and other summer events.
