Coincidence is God remaining anonymous? Yesterday Pastor Marsh preached on Jesus' stilling of the storm on the sea Hope Lutheran Church Selden. Then he presided over the dedication of a Children's playroom created by Sean Wannaker for his Eagle scouting project. And THEN we found out where Ethan is going in a week. He heads for his freshmen year at SUNY Maritime! Coincidence or God's timing?

Pictured are ship visitor Tim with young seafarers who had just begun their contracts aboard the bulk carrier Sunny Hope.
The youngest seafarer told Tim that one of his recent stops was Isla de Cedros, off Mexico’s Pacific coast. He described the island as a small but welcoming community, with just one taxi driver serving the entire island.
The Sunny Hope had carried salt from Mexico to New Haven, where it will help treat icy winter streets. During the visit, Tim delivered shirts, socks, playing cards, and books to the crew.
The seafarers spoke excitedly about their travels and the new places they hope to see during their first contracts at sea. ⚓️

FYI: Isla de Cedros, located off the Pacific coast of Baja California, hosts Puerto Morro Redondo, which is a major industrial bulk-loading terminal and Mexico's third-largest port by tonnage, exporting over 7 million metric tons of salt annually.

Last week in the port of New Haven, our ship visitor Tim met the captain of the cargo ship Ipanema Beach on the captain’s final day of contract before flying home. A new captain was preparing to take over for the vessel’s departure to the Port of Fairless Hills, a major Mid-Atlantic marine terminal on the Delaware River in Pennsylvania.
Tim and the captain shared dinner and enjoyed wide-ranging conversations about music, the seafaring industry, and life in India.
As a parting gift, a sturdy charcoal grill was found for the crew to use during summer evenings outdoors on deck!
