🎬 WORLD PREMIERE 🎻

“Naumburg at 100: A Legacy of Greatness”
Directed by Sundance Jury Award winner and Independent Spirit Award nominee Catherine Tambini

The Naumburg Foundation Competition is the longest-running music competition in the world, and not just in classical music but in any genre. 🏆

Our favorite part? It features Long Island musicians! 🎶 Flutist Carol Wincenc, a Naumburg winner and faculty member at our own Stony Brook University, appears alongside the Emerson String Quartet, which also has strong ties to Stony Brook’s Music Department.

The film also features Grammy-winning soprano Julia Bullock, Oscar and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Corigliano, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, concert pianist Sir Stephen Hough and more!

We were among some of the first few to see this film. Keep a lookout for it!

06/25/2026

Open to violinists aged 18 to 32, the competition will be held in New York City from October 27 to November 1, 2026.
