Our amazing grantee delivered laptops to the “School of Superheroes” — a place where children who are currently facing the greatest challenges of their lives come to learn.

There are no “ordinary” lessons there. Instead, every day is a small victory over fear, pain, and circumstance.

And now these children have one more tool to learn, to dream, and to plan for what comes next.

These laptops are not about technology. They are about taking control of one’s own future, about the chance to never stop.

Because superheroes are not those who feel no fear. They are those who keep moving forward.

And we deeply want them to have every opportunity to do just that. Together, we can overcome anything 💛 💙

Buckets of potatoes and beets on the floor, an old stove to warm the entire house, embroidered towels and pillows in every corner. This is what the volunteers of BlueCheck partner .help encountered as they entered the home of Hanna and Maria, two sisters who live together in Halytske, a village that was occupied in the beginning of full-scale war.

Maria cannot move around the house and needs constant support. Hanna, 78, takes care of her along with the household. The Starenki team arrived at Hanna’s home just as she was preparing dinner from the harvest from her vegetable garden. While the garden offers some sustenance, it does not provide the sisters with enough nutrition.

Thanks to Starenki the sisters received groceries to supplement their provisions along with specific hygiene items that Maria needs daily.

This has been a tough year for Ukraine. Amid Russia’s ongoing aggression, funding cuts have resulted in a steep drop in humanitarian aid getting to people in desperate need.

As our newly released impact report shows, BlueCheck continued to support local organizations as they went the distance for their Ukrainian brethren. They delivered food, water, medicine, heating supplies, compassionate care, and hope.

BlueCheck partner .help provides older Ukrainians with aid packages as well as social activities. In September, Starenki distributed 689 aid packages in seven regions: Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv regions and Kyiv city. Several of these regions have recently faced severe attacks.

One recipient of aid is Averida, 75. Before the war, she had a family, a job, and a favorite hobby: sewing clothes for herself. Then she lost her husband and son, and her grandchildren moved abroad, leaving Averida alone. Feeling lonely, she began to slip into depression.

Fortunately, some of her former colleagues took notice and found a social worker to visit her and bring packages from Starenki that contain supplies she could otherwise not afford. Having the connection and support has been a lifeline.

“This is very important to me,” Averida says. “I feel that I am not alone. There is someone who will come, listen, and support me. And then life becomes easier.”

Please give to ensure that every organization willing to go the distance to help Ukrainians can do so. Thank you!

Your donation to BlueCheck (bluecheck.in/donate) helps vetted partners like save Ukrainian lives. Here’s how:

In March 2025, Kidsave delivered life-saving humanitarian assistance to over 12,000 people, including 2,500 families with more than 7,500 children affected by the war in Kherson, Mykolaiv, and a number of surrounding villages.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of their local volunteers, Kidsave reached some of the most vulnerable communities with essential aid: food, warm clothing, hygiene items, and other critical supplies.

For families living under constant threat of violence and displacement, this
support was not just material—it was a lifeline of dignity, survival, and hope.
We also helped equip hospitals in frontline areas with much-needed medical supplies.

These resources enabled doctors and nurses to continue treating civilians—many of whom are injured by ongoing bombings and drone strikes—while under immense strain. Your funding played a vital role in sustaining healthcare access where it is most urgently needed.

Recognizing that trauma affects more than the body, Kidsave also prioritized the emotional recovery of displaced children. At the Mykolaiv Children and Family Support Center, they hosted art therapy and play sessions designed to help children process grief, reduce anxiety, and rediscover moments of joy. In the midst of war, these activities offer more than distraction—they help rebuild a sense of safety and trust.

In the Mykolaiv region, 85 orphaned and abandoned children remain in institutional care near active combat zones. These children have lost homes, family, and stability.

With continued support from BlueCheck, Kidsave plans to evacuate these children to the Miracles Center in Western Ukraine this July. There, they will receive trauma-informed care, psychological support, shelter, and education in a safe, nurturing environment. Just as crucially, KidSave will create opportunities for them to meet Ukrainian families open to fostering or adoption—offering not just healing, but the chance for a brighter future.

When the going gets tough, BlueCheck partner keeps right on going.

Founded by United States Marine Corps combat veterans, Project Victory has sent teams into Ukraine eight times since Russia’s full scale invasion.
Project Victory focuses on three areas of support: hospitals, first responders, and children and families. The Project Victory team has partnered with the Human Rights Department of the National Police of Ukraine, establishing trusted supply lines. Their medical director holds regular Zoom calls with doctors inside Ukraine who request surgical and medical supplies they cannot obtain inside Ukraine. Project Victory teams then acquire the supplies and bring them to the hospitals that desperately need them to continue saving lives. The team also evacuates people living on the frontlines to safety.

Currently, Project Victory is working to expand into large deliveries of food into frontline cities. They have identified a source for food, trucks, and drivers.
Right now Project Victory can really use our support to bring as much food into those cities as we can. They also want to provide computers to school-aged children forced to attend school online from shelters or their homes. They have a source for the computers and delivery, but need funding to execute. Can you help? 🙏

‼️The decision by the U.S. government to stop providing aid to Ukraine is going to result in severe consequences for a people already living on the edge.

BlueCheck aims to raise $2 million in emergency funds to provide lifesaving aid, including food, water, medicine, hygiene supplies, shelter, and mental health support, to vulnerable populations in the surveyed regions over the next six months. Please give what you can: bluecheck.in/donate.

In late January and early February, BlueCheck surveyed six of its partners operating across the front-line oblasts of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, as well as Odesa and Mykolaiv. They reported that conditions are particularly acute in frontline regions, where Ukrainian civilians bear the brunt of Russia’s military advances.

Insights and data collected show that they anticipate assisting more than two million people this year, double the one million civilians they collectively assisted last year. Yet, they also have experienced significant decreases in funding to carry out their programs.

🥳 Congratulations to BlueCheck partner .help, which was recently recognized as one of the TOP 100 civil society initiatives in Kyiv!

They are truly amazing. 🥰

➡️ In December, Starenki and other local partners distributed over 1,000 aid packages for seniors in Ternopil, Sumy, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Lviv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv.

➡️ In addition, Starenki organized 17 tea parties for 344 seniors in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv.

➡️ For Christmas, a local Starenki volunteer decided to fulfill the wishes of older people living in a geriatric home in Ivano-Frankivsk. This volunteer solicited donations from more than 30 people in Ukraine, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, who sent presents to older people. Amazing!

➡️ Volunteers organized a scrapbooking project, making over 100 Christmas cards for seniors and preparing holiday treats for Starenki tea parties.

➡️ Starenki worked with the healthy food company, which delivered festive meals to the elderly in Kyiv on Christmas.

✨Kudos to Starenki and all the volunteers for helping seniors enjoy the holidays, which can be so difficult for people living in isolation.

You can help, too! Make a donation to BlueCheck that will support the work of our partners on the ground: www.bluecheck.in/donate.

Thank you. 🙏

🌨️ Delivering Hope to Shakhove🌨️

This winter, the .peace.in.ua team traveled to the frontline village of Shakhove, where the humanitarian situation is dire. They delivered *emergency food kits* filled with ready-to-eat meals designed for critical moments—meals that don’t require cooking, water, or firewood. These supplies will help residents sustain themselves for *60 to 90 days*, offering vital security during uncertain times.

As they approached the village, artillery fire began, and the team had to take shelter. Yet, they pressed on, ensuring that no one in Shakhove was left without the help they so desperately need.

Every box delivered is more than just food; it’s a lifeline, a symbol of solidarity, and a reminder that the world has not forgotten those in need.

Thank you for helping to make this mission possible. Together, we’re bringing light and hope to the darkest of places.
