We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has reached out with love and condolences. Our mother, lovingly known as Pinky, was truly cherished by so many.

All arrangements have now been finalized. A public service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at:

4501 Glenwood Rd, Brooklyn, NY

Please note that no media will be permitted inside during the service or the repass.

The repass will follow immediately after the service and will be reserved for close family and friends only. We kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our need for privacy at this time. As many of you know, we have experienced back-to-back traumas since the death of my father Eric Garner and we have not had the time to properly grieve.

We are deeply grateful for the love the world has shown her, and we thank you for holding us in your hearts during this difficult period.

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Esaw “Pinky” Snipes-Garner, my beloved mother. There are no words that can fully express the weight of this loss, but what I can say is this: she was the realest person I ever had the honor of knowing. Her authenticity, sharp tongue, and no-nonsense attitude made her stand out in a world full of people who wear masks. What you saw with her was always exactly what you got no pretenses, no sugar-coating, just pure, unfiltered truth. And even when you didn’t want to hear it, trust me, you heard it!

She had this rare gift of talking her ish, no filter whatsoever, but underneath it all was a heart that would move mountains for those she loved. Her love was fierce, and her strength was unmatched. I learned so much from her about life, resilience, and how to love with everything you’ve got, even when the going gets tough. She also showed me the power of speaking up when it counts and never letting anyone walk all over you. She was a wife, a daughter, a grandmother, and a mother. She battled her demons, but when the dust settled, she held her own and left her mark on this world.

I will miss her more than words can express. The world just isn’t as funny without her sharp tongue and humor. There’s an ache in my heart that will never fully heal, but I find some peace knowing that her pain and suffering have finally ended. No more struggles, no more hurt. She’s at peace now, and I like to think she’s up there with her husband, son, mother, daughters, and countless others we’ve lost, talking her ish and making everyone laugh like she always did.

Rest in peace, old lady. You were loved beyond measure, and you will never, ever be forgotten.

Good evening, family and friends. We are in need of your help Emery was a kind soul who battled a heart disease that took us all by surprise. As many of you know, he underwent a heart transplant last year after a long, difficult journey to understand why his heart was failing. For months, he lived on a machine, and through our prayers, God blessed him with a heart large enough to fit his 6’7” frame. He made it through the surgery and returned home to us.

Sadly, just a few months ago, his body began to reject the heart, and we lost him last week at the young age of 25. We are asking for your support in raising the remaining funds needed to give him the proper homegoing service he deserves. Our family has endured so much loss, and I pray that no one else has to experience what we have. Emery’s story is one of tragedy and uncertainty, but God ultimately had the final say.

During this difficult time, we appreciate any help you can offer. Please continue to love on your people, tell them you love them, and cherish every moment—none of us knows when God will call us home. Thank you all for your support and prayers. 🙏🏾 please share! https://gofund.me/d1608748

When Aunt Norma attended the Power Woman of Brooklyn Award ceremony in 2022, she was recognized by nearly everyone in the room 🤣❤️👌🏾 she’s the power woman if you ask me!

Exciting news! Next month, I will be honored with the 2024 Power Woman Icon Award & giving the keynote speech! Tickets are on sale now!

Over the past decade, I have dedicated myself to establishing We Can’t Breathe Inc. This journey involved immense dedication, facing challenges without consistent funding, rebranding the organization, welcoming two additional children into my care while raising my own, enduring a significant mental health struggle, rebuilding my business in 2018, and embarking on global travels to engage in community discussions to heal from my own trauma and provide for my family. I vowed to actively seek opportunities, connect with genuine supporters of WCB, and continue to educate myself on nonprofit management. Grateful for my remarkable mentor, who will remain unnamed for now, I have carved a path in this movement, committed to amplifying the voices of those affected by trauma and violence, fostering a supportive community of women, and advocating for positive change in how black women are supported in times of crisis.

Thank you for recognizing the work of powerful black women!
I promise to always keep their names alive! WCB’s family resource center is coming soon.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Professor Kareem for his unwavering support of WCB since 2023. We are grateful for his sponsorship of transportation, enabling our interns to attend our final summer Friday event. Professor Kareem has been instrumental in numerous WCB projects, collaborating with Emerald Garner to champion justice and equality from NYC TO Indiana to DC. His dedication and generosity are truly appreciated.
Professor Kareem’s consistent commitment has not only provided logistical support but has also inspired both the staff and interns to strive for excellence in their roles.
In partnership with Emerald Garner, Professor Kareem has played a crucial role in our Summer Mentorship program. He facilitated the intern’s involvement in the NYC Men’s Teach program, supporting Luis on his path to becoming an educator. This has fostered a culture of activism and awareness within the CUNY community. His influence extends to mentorship, guidance, and a shared vision for a more equitable society. For more details and to support his endeavors, please visit his website!
Once again, a huge thank you to Professor Kareem for his exceptional contributions and for being a beacon of hope and inspiration for all of us.

It’s been a challenging journey, but we finally have some fantastic news to share! The first officer in the Bronx to be charged under the Eric Garner Excessive Use of Force bill has been indicted. Our efforts in marching, protesting, and fasting have paid off! It’s a victory for justice and accountability. I have relentlessly fought for my father’s rights, advocating and speaking out continuously. The officer was indicted on August 8th, 2024, I have been following the case since 2023. Visit my website for the full release and WCB’s Call to Action!
