✨Cheers to our Chelsea Factory community near and far!

As our final chapter comes to a close, a heartfelt thank you to Chelsea Factory’s artists, friends, neighbors, staff, and supporters for helping bring the Chelsea Factory vision to life.

Chelsea Factory launched in the fall of 2021 during an unprecedented time to provide responsive support to NYC-based artists from historically excluded communities. Since opening our doors, we have served 5,000+ NYC-based artists; proudly welcomed 50,000+ audience members back to live performances; produced 300+ public performances and free events; and partnered with 200+ artistic and community organizations.

While the curtain may be closing on West 26th Street, the impact of our incredible artists and partners will continue to grow. Thank you for joining us!

We can’t wait for our favorite evening of the year - The Big Give 2024!
Please save Monday, December 2, on your calendar!
It will be a hybrid event with an in-person component at the Chelsea Factory.

The Big Give is an annual event that provides grants to indie theater companies, fiscally sponsored collectives/productions, and indie theater venues. And we celebrate our love for our indie theater and NYC communities.

We look forward to spending a lovely evening with you, celebrating indie theater, and giving away many Pay Your People cash grants!

👏 Thrilled that Bombay Sapphire’s “Saw This Made This” activation at Chelsea Factory just won BizBash's Best Press Event!

Last May, our space transformed into an immersive gallery, a studio for Ai-Da the robot artist, and a full Bombay bar. 🤖🍸

As always, this innovative event rental directly subsidized artists’ use of our space. Congrats to all our partners involved!

From our friends at The Joyce Theater!

'22 CF Resident Artist Music from the Sole perform "I Didn't Come to Stay" at The Joyce today through February 4!

In this work, Brazilian tap dancer and choreographer Leonardo Sandoval and bassist/composer Gregory Richardson lead eight dancers and a five-piece band in a performance that explores tap’s lineage and connections to other Afro-Diasporic forms. Conceived as a Carnival fever dream, "I Didn’t Come to Stay" embraces shared roots across the diaspora to reflect on what shapes their cultural and artistic identity, and celebrates the joy, depth, and virtuosity of Black dance and music.
