On this International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation, IHF seeks to confront the harmful violation of the fundamental rights of women and girls which is practiced in many communities.

UNICEF defines Female Mutilation as all procedures that involve the partial or total removal of external female ge***alia or any other injury to female ge***al organs for non-medical reasons.

We cannot remain silent in the face of this terrible practice that strips women of their fundamental right to control their bodies, reinforce gender inequality, and inflict deep physical and psychological scars. We must take a firm stand and work towards bringing positive change and progress.

As the old expression says, two heads are better than one!

It is our collective responsibility to challenge the culture beliefs that support this practice and work towards empowering communities to abandon it.

Together, we can create a world where every woman and girl is free from the shackles of female ge***al mutilation.

How safe is it to study in cracked buildings, under leaking roofs, on the floor or damaged benches, and within a bushy environment? How healthy is it to not have water and a clean environment?

This is your sign to learn the health, psychological, and social impacts of GBV, as well as our roles towards curbing it...and to pass the information along.

IHF is urging everyone to make conscious efforts to advocate for the prevention and eradication of all forms of violence against women and girls.
