Join us for the Day of Action on Saturday, June 7, to defend the freedom to learn. To protect young people’s right to learn — and by default protect the future of democracy and justice — we need to expose the right’s agenda and be visible in our defense of teaching people’s history. As journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones noted, "They erase your history so that they can erase your rights."

Event hosts receive resources for activities and displays for their day of action to engage the public in a range of activities at a library, bookstore, city hall, farmers market, festival, or other public spaces. Defend a truthful education and the rights of all of our students, no matter their race, gender identity, or immigration status.

Board of Education is our reminder that a just, multiracial society cannot exist when education is “separate, but equal.”

Revisit Avis Weathersbee's Colorlines article which examines the outcomes from Brown v. Board of Education and the continued efforts for an equitable public education system.
