In just one week, friends of The English Concert in America will gather for an evening unlike any other. 👏

The evening begins with cocktails, followed by a performance led by Harry Bicket and featuring Joélle Harvey. Following the performance, we invite you to continue the celebration at a reception with the artists and fellow supporters of TECA.

Proceeds from the event will support The English Concert's touring and recording activities in the United States while also providing performance and mentorship opportunities through the TECA Fellowship Program.

🇺🇸 When Americans declared independence in 1776, the news spread quickly across Europe.

The birth of a new nation captured people's imaginations. Writers wrote about it. Philosophers debated it. Composers were inspired by it.

One of them was Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach, who composed Die Amerikanerin, inspired by Europe's fascination with the young nation across the Atlantic.

Now, nearly 250 years later, Harry Bicket, Joélle Harvey, and TECA Fellows bring this rarely performed work back to life, alongside selections from Handel's Giulio Cesare. 🎶

Harry Bicket has earned an international reputation as one of the world's leading interpreters of Baroque and Classical repertoire. Renowned for his artistry and musicianship, he brings both beloved masterpieces and rarely heard works vividly to life.

Joining him is acclaimed soprano Joelle Harvey, who performs two unforgettable roles in one evening: The American Woman in J.C.F. Bach's Die Amerikanerin and Cleopatra in selections from Handel's Giulio Cesare.

Meet Adriane Post, a member of our very first class of TECA Fellows and a sought-after violinist, performer, leader, collaborator, and teacher. 🎻

A founding member of the Diderot String Quartet and ACRONYM, Adriane has dedicated her career to performing and teaching Baroque, Classical, and Early Romantic repertoire on historical instruments.

🎶 Adriane earned her Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory before joining the inaugural class of The Juilliard School's Historical Performance program, where she completed her master's degree.

Meet Sarah Jane Kenner, a baroque violinist and 2018 TECA Fellow. 🎻

Hailed as a “fireworks soloist” by ConcertoNet, Sarah is a New York City-based violinist and historical performance specialist performing across the U.S. and internationally.

Beyond music, Sarah is also the creator of The Hungry Musician, where she shares recipes, kitchen tips, and cooking support designed specifically for musicians. 🍽️
