With Game 4 going the wrong way for the Knicks tonight, maybe we should have stayed even later for our first night of Mah Jong in Harlem at JCC Harlem! Thank you to everyone who joined in, brought their Mah Jong sets, and especially to Susan Zilberman for her amazing teaching and spreading love of the game to our community. What happens when Shabbat Show kids step onto Broadway? ✨🎭

This week, our troupe were special guests at “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” , thanks to our incredible teacher 💛

From seeing Zoe jump onstage as an audience “speller, to an intimate cast Q&A and autographs (yes—Zoe signed a few too 😄), the night was pure magic.

The biggest takeaway? Some of the same improv, storytelling, and ensemble skills our kids are learning each week can grow into something this big: bright lights, bold choices, and Broadway-level joy.

Embrace’s Community Scouts kicked off another year of service learning in Harlem this past weekend! We are thrilled to have new kids joining the group, along with two amazing 12 grade troupe leaders.

For the November session we partnered with Animal Care Centers of New York to learn about their work rescuing all kind of pets and wildlife in NYC. We also learned that if you see an animal in the wild in NYC, you can call 311 and it will be reported to ACCNYC to respond! Scouts made blankets for dogs in the shelter so they can feel cozy and cared for.
