“+ Fair: Urban populations have been projected to grow, most rapidly in cities with over 10 million citizens. But economic growth has not been equal, nor has it delivered equal benefits to all urban residents. Health and environmental crises affect different income levels unevenly. If urban residents lack basic housing and access to infrastructure, inequality and segregation increase, as housing in the right place and at the right price are key to unlocking the opportunities of the urban core. How do cities deliver urban public goods such as housing, education, and healthcare (including public health) as fundamental human rights?”

This Dynamic Cities Framework, and ultimately Index, can help guide and inspire stakeholders at every level—municipal, regional, and national government leaders, private sector executives, community organizers and activists—to drive change. Ultimately, what the Bloomberg New Economy Cities Council wants to identify and promote are cities that, by constantly evolving and breaking ground, can answer unmet needs—and shape the evolution of the New Economy.

The HOME Platforms’ Three Pillars are intrinsically linked to empower multi-stakeholders for delivering affordable and sustainable housing. The ESG framework offers the lens through which affordable housing assets can be more easily assessed on a global level. The platform itself is not simply a data collection tool but a community where developers and individuals can come together to learn, share best practice and collectively improve toward the commonly agreed best standards.

The P2P platform naturally flows from this community, as most of these entities will be seeking an ESG rating in order to prove to investors and lenders that they are building to a high standard. Through this portal those in need of finance can apply for it and depending on the situation, they can get connected to donors, lenders, or impact investors. As one community grows, naturally the other grows and the ESG data continues to support decisions.

Our programs center around empowerment, we start with the financial transformation. We are doing this with a phased approach that aims to weave together several strategies to unlock what is a complex and disjointed problem.

Three Pillars of Finacial Transformation: 1. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Framework for Affordable Housing to Measure Success; 2. Peer-to-peer (P2P) Platform to channel finance for Affordable Housing through facilitating Grant, no interest & low interest loans; 3. Connected Homes App for all the participants within our ecosystem to assess and accelerate ESG impacts.

We build on The Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing launched in November 2020 by the ESG Social Housing Working Group – a unique collaboration of 18 housing associations, banks, investors, service providers and impact investing organizations. This standard formed a starting point for the World Home Foundation's universal ESG Framework for Affordable Housing. Our goal is to expand its initial focus in the UK social housing sector into a global framework for affordable housing, that is customizable for countries, cities and regions around the world.

“HOW THE CRITERIA ARE STRUCTURED:
Within the three high level areas: “Environment,
Social and Governance” we identify a set of themes aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Environmental themes relate to management of housing stock whereas social criteria relate to residents and the local community.”
