It’s that time of year again—my absolute favorite tradition—sending out care packages to our scholars!

For those who don’t know, Pebblin—yes, that Pebblin, the President of the JL Winston Foundation—was also my college roommate at Tennessee State University. All four years! Who would’ve guessed that two wide-eyed 18-year-olds meeting in Mary Wilson Hall (shout-out to the “Zoo”) would someday be shipping care packages to students all across the South?

To this day, one of the things we laugh about most are the legendary care packages my mom used to send. They were epic. They caused full-on traffic jams in the mailroom. They lured neighbors out of their apartments over in Court Villa. Pure chaos. 🤣

Now listen… our care packages might not quite reach my mother’s mythical level, but I love them just the same. And I truly hope our students enjoy them as they push through to the finish line this semester.

To our scholars: have a fantastic rest of the semester. And do us one favor—share something from your box with a friend. Trust me… it might just become the story you laugh about together decades from now. 💜 📦
